Message from the Branch President

Welcome to the Western Australia Branch, which is one of the 85 officially approved Branches comprising the Royal Commonwealth Society operating in 54 Countries of the Commonwealth and I trust you find our website both informative and inspiring.
The WA Branch is the largest of the Branches in Australia and is the only Branch throughout the Commonwealth to have an active and rapidly growing youth group to the extent our membership is enjoying an upward trend.
Whilst new to many of you when elected to take over the leadership of this important organisation I trust my strong background in leadership of youth through the Australian Air Force Cadets and senior corporate management positions is now apparent. I am grateful to former President Mrs Joan Tonkin MBE JP for her support and trust in me to continue the good work she had been doing over many years.
In a few short years The WA Branch has acquired a new computing system, adopted a formal Vison and Mission Statement, established a Young Fellows group, set up an inaugural website, commenced an overhaul and streamlining of its operations and established the framework for ongoing Strategic Planning.
Our website has had a major reconstruction, courtesy of Mr Tom Cloud, international web design specialist, and I am sure as you navigate your way around this world class website you will be as impressed as we are of what Tom has achieved.
The change in direction of the WA Branch is evident by the strong focus on youth and education opportunities, which we regard as essential to be better citizens and members of the local community in which they will live and work throughout their lives. In that regard our series of new initiatives will continue to be progressively released as we move to consolidate our “elective subject” initiative that will allow our young fellows to receive formal credits for the work they do in the WA Branch.
Finally, it is important for me to remind everyone the WA Branch operates independently from The RCS London, as evidenced by our new Logo, under the laws of Western Australia and cooperates with RCS London and the officially endorsed Branches, whose objectives are to promote the increase and spread of knowledge respecting the peoples and the countries of the Commonwealth.
If you have any queries about the website, the WA Branch or any other queries you may have please feel free to email us at any time.
